Not So Silent Night!

All was quiet in the Glaesman household. Carson was hungry and I was about to get up and feed him. All of the sudden, "CRASH.... SCREECH," I look out the window and to my dismay, there is a Dodge pickup parked sideways in my alley. So the good citizen I am, i call 911. To me it looks like they have hit my neighbors tree so i tell the nice man on the other line just that. i could see it was a dogde pickup but was unable to see the color other than that it was a dark color. travis is awake at this time as well, he goes to make sure the front door is locked. He comes back to the bedroom and says, "Shelly, they took out your yard light." By this time i'm off the phone. i go out to the kitchen and to my dismay, my once beautiful yard light is smashed all the way across my driveway, into my neighbors yard. There are chunks of vehicle scattered along with the bricks that have traveled nearly 20 feet from where they originated. By this time, the crooks have fled the scene. I wait patiently for our fearless cop, Tom and together we scope out the damages. there is a huge chunk of wood missing from an MDU pole that is in front of my house with some maroon paint on it as well....mmmmmmm only one person in town with a maroon dodge.....ok, fast forward to 6:45 am today. travis and i scope out the damages again. we had difficulty seeing all the damage last night becuase the damage to the MDU pole has shaken the light completely out and that too is scattered across main street. About 20 minutes later, i get a phone call from travis on his way to work. He states "Terisa Rohweder's pickup is parked in front of her hotel and it's all smashed." So i call our fearless leader, Tom, and let him know. Wow! what an exciting morning it's been for me and it's only 8AM. So now comes the fun part of wasting a whole day cleaning and calling for insurance, electricity, and carpentry. OOOOO, Lucky me. until next time....

Too bad the highway is so narrow right by your house that a vehicle would have to travel across your yard. Then again maybe your beautiful yard light was glowing so brightly that the criminal throught IT was the street light and snuggled right up to it in order to avoid a............never mind. There is just no way to explain away the damage a drunk can do.

I think Christmas lights will light up your yard and them they will see your yard and stay on the street.
Christmas light contest in your neighborhood? That will light up the place, and the drunks will avoid your street and save blowup sants and elfs. SAVE A SANTA!
